The Gokyo Lake with Renjo La Pass Trek is one of the best for seeing amazing views of Mt. Everest (8,848 m/29,031 ft). You’ll spot Everest from Gokyo Ri (5,357 m/17,575.4 ft), Renjo La Pass, and other spots. Other mountains like Mt. Cho Oyu (8,188 m/26,864 ft), Island Peak, Mt. Ama Dablam (6,812 m/22,349 ft), Mt. Cholatse (6,440 m/21,130 ft), Mt. Lhotse (8,516m/27,940 ft), Mt. Nuptse (7,861 m/25,791 ft), etc., are visible on the trek.
Besides the tall mountains, the beautiful Gokyo Lakes (4,700 m–5,000 m) and charming Gokyo village are big highlights. Glaciers, valleys, and incredible views are all part of the Gokyo Lakes and Renjo La Pass trek.
You’ll also see Sherpa traditions, colorful prayer flags, dense green forests, and lovely rhododendron flowers, making the trek a nature-filled experience.

Tour Itinerary
Arrival in Kathmandu and trip preparation
Upon arriving at Kathmandu International Airport, a representative from Aarohi Treks will warmly welcome us and transfer us to our designated hotel. After settling in, we have the option to rest. This evening marks the beginning of our adventure with Aarohi Treks. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.
Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla 30 minutes (2840m.|9316ft.), trek to Phakding (2610m.|8563ft. 3-4 hrs)
Embark on your Everest Base Camp journey with an exciting flight to Lukla or Manthali. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Himalayas and lush hills. Spend the night in Phakding (2,610m) for acclimatization. The trail passes through Chauri Kharka, descends to Dudh Koshi river, and leads to Phakding with a glimpse of Mt. Khumbila.
Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m.|11286ft. 6-7 hrs)
From Phakding, cross the Dudh Koshi river via a suspension bridge to reach Monjo, passing through a pine forest. Navigate several suspension bridges and ascend through Sagarmatha National Park. Follow the Dudh Koshi river to Jorsale for a lunch break, then trek through dense forests to reach the iconic Namche Bazaar. Get your first glimpse of Mt. Everest today.
Acclimatization at Namche Bazaar (3 to 5 hours a day hiking)
Today, acclimate in Namche Bazaar by exploring, interacting with locals. Embark on a short hike to Everest View Hotel (3,962m) for stunning views of Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Lhotse, and Kongde Peak. Enjoy the scenery and return to Namche Bazaar for the night, ensuring a gradual adjustment to high altitude.
Trek Namche Bazar to Phortse Thanga(3,680m.|12,071ft., 5 - 6 hrs trek)
Start the day with a hearty breakfast. The trail from Namche Bazaar goes uphill at first, then levels to Sanasa. Next, ascend towards Mong La, with a steep climb until you reach there. After Mong La, the path descends for around 30 minutes to Imja Khola, where Phortse Tenga is situated.
Trek Phortse Thanga to Machhermo(4470m.|14662ft, 5 - 6 hrs trek)
Climb uphill for 40 minutes to soak in breathtaking valley views. Then, descend to Dole for a quick lunch break. Resume the hike to a ridge from Dole, passing through Lhabarma and Luza, until you reach the beautiful village of Machhermo, offering striking views of snow-capped mountains.
Trek Machhermo to Gokyo(4790m.|15711ft.) 3 - 4 hrs trek
The trail from Machhermo to Gokyo village is challenging. Start by climbing a steep path to a ridge above Machhermo, offering an excellent view of Cho Oyu. Continue towards Pangka and Nilibuk, then ascend via a narrow staircase to a small bridge. The trail passes by the lake and eventually reaches Gokyo village.
Acclimatization in Gokyo village, hike to Gokyo Ri (5360m.|17580ft., 3 - 4 hrs)
On your rest day in Gokyo village, embark on a hike to the nearby hill, Gokyo Ri (5,360m/17,581ft.), for a breathtaking panorama of the Himalayan mountains, including Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Cholatse, Mt. Tawache, and more. Afterward, explore the stunning Gokyo Lakes, engage with locals, and experience their lifestyle and culture.
Trek Gokyo to Lumde (4,368m.|14,328ft.) via Renjo La pass (5,360m.|17,581ft. 8 - 9 hrs)
One of the most exciting parts of this trek is crossing the challenging Renjo La pass. Today, you will begin trekking early. The route descends to a remote northern valley where the landscape begins to resemble that of the Tibetan plateau. You will slowly progress towards the top of Renjo La pass through the steep, rugged, and windy trail. The top of the pass offers great mountain views. Further, the trail drops down to Lumde, where you will be spending the night.
Trek Lumde to Namche Bazar(3,440m.|11,284ft.) 7 - 8 hrs trek
Lumde to Namche Bazar descends through small villages and lush forests. You will pass by Thame village with an ancient Thame monastery perched on the side hill. Towering mountains will keep your company throughout the way. From Thame, the trail descends back towards Namche Bazar.
Trek Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2840m.|9318ft, 6 - 7 hrs trek)
After breakfast, start descending steeply through lush forests. The trail crosses numerous suspension bridges and takes you past beautiful waterfalls. Pass through villages like Monjo and Phakding before ascending towards Lukla.
Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu (1400m.|4593ft.)
Savoring the final dramatic views of the Himalayan mountains, fly back to Kathmandu for a short and thrilling journey. Upon landing at Kathmandu airport, our team members will receive you and accompany you to the hotel. In the later part of the day, enjoy free time to explore and shop for souvenirs. Gather with the team members for a farewell dinner to conclude the journey.
